Data Engineer

Data Engineer / Permanent / Hybrid / Nottinghamshire

About the role

Our client is FCA regulated offering financial solutions with an analytical approach. The client is looking for a data engineer to join them on a permanent, hybris basis (1 to 2 times a month in the head office). This role exists to support and coach agile delivery teams in developing and maintaining data solutions, in line with the client's data strategy, architectural vision and roadmap. Adhering to defined standards, patterns and practices for the data engineering chapter.

Key responsibilities

Contributing towards data solutions in line with the data strategy, architectural vision and roadmap
Providing technical coaching and mentoring to Data Engineers
Participant in relevant chapter meetings
Working in alignment with the standards agreed in the Data Engineering Chapter
Working with a team of talented people as part of an agile delivery team following Scrum Principles
Ownership of data engineering solutions ensuring quality and standards are met.
Ensuring data engineers buy-into the data strategy and data engineering chapter standards.
Supporting the recruitment process for data engineers KPI's & DeliverablesEssential skills

Highly proficient in T-SQL
Highly proficient in ETL Process Development
Highly proficient in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing dimensional modelling techniques.
Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies, such as SQL Server, Azure Data Lakes, Azure Data Factory, Apache Spark, Azure Databricks & Azure DevOps etc
Some experience in .NET C# or PowerShell
Experience in the usage of data reporting platform, such as PowerBI
Strong understanding of systems required in delivering commercial finance products, and how they fit together (i.e. loan origination systems, loan management systems, collections systems)
Strong understanding of data governance concepts such as data ownership, data stewardship etc Non-Technical SkillsBenefits
