This company is on an exciting journey so its a great time to come aboard. Currently the Group has just over 160 employees however there are strong growth plans so this position does come with a strong option to progress into a Finance Controller in the next 2 years.
Overview of the Finance Manager:
The Finance Manager will provide day to day support to the Finance Controller and leadership to the Finance department. The Finance Manager will support and provide insightful information to inform business decisions and to support the business to function successfully.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and managing a team of 6 people, the Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and continuous end-to-end processing of finance transactions whilst supporting the business. The role's responsibilities include payroll, production and review of the Management Accounts including journal bookings, finance responsibility for R&D, balance sheet reconciliations among other duties.
Calculation journals and production of management accounts
Preparing and posting of the R&D capitalisation, challenging internal calculations
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all areas of responsibility
Ownership of preparing of payroll and liaison with local payroll providers
Proactive query resolution - internally and externally
Business partnering with CTO, CFO, VP of Go to Market and other Executive Heads
Assisting with the provision of schedules in support of the year end statutory audit
Improvement to procedures and controls
Support the Finance team wherever necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the finance function
Previous Finance Manager experience relevant to the role
Accounting qualification i.e. ACCA or CIMA etc preferred
Ability to organise, prioritise and work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines
Methodical, attentive to detail
Experience of working with a UK business with some international exposure would be a strong advantage
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge and experience of using accounting system, FinancialForce preferred however not essential
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs/Pivot tables)
Ability to apply problem solving techniques to day-to-day operations and work under own initiative
Able to work under pressure and make decisions
