Junior Control of Works - FM Service Provider - Feltham, West London - Up to £38,000 per annum

A brilliant opportunity has arisen to work for an established building services company. My client is looking for a Junior Control of Works to be based at a large commercial estate in Feltham, West London.

The role will be to manage the safety of all works across the site under the guidance of the Senior Control of Works. The successful candidate will undertake training in permit disciplines, all working towards becoming a qualified Control of Works, issuing permits and providing health and safety guidance to the technical, facilities and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years working within the FM industry and have a good understanding of Health and Safety.

Working with the team on site, the successful candidate will be required to carry out the following tasks:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Walk the site and monitor low risk activities
Develop under training to monitor higher risk jobs
Conduct safety conversations
Work with the Senior control of works and other members of the control of works team
Add contractors to the site access system
File permits and associated paperwork
Undertake training to work towards issuing permits
Carry out audits on site permit system
Develop an understanding of RAMs and obtain guidance from the control of works to be able to review and write RAMS
Feel comfortable to speak with contractors to make sure low risk works have RAMs which should be read, understood and signed
Escalate issues to the Senior control of Works
Control and supervise contractors when required
Inspect work area for safe handover once work has been completed for the day
Carry out weekly plant room inspections
Carry out contractor inductions
Liaise with project team and attend meetings
Hours of Work & Salary

Up to £38,000 per annum
07:30 - 16:30 - Monday to Friday

An understanding of Health and safety (IOSH beneficial)
Minimum of 3 years working within the FM industry
Electrically or Mechanically qualified - C&G / NVQ Level 2&3 - Desired
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload
