Compensation & Schedule Pay Rate: $16.00+/hour (Depending on experience and the specific level of the role) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Patient Service Representative I to provide essential administrative coverage for our specialist physician practice. As the first point of contact, you will play a vital role in the patient experience-greeting, assisting, and directing patients and visitors, and ensuring accurate information is collected upon arrival. Key Responsibilities Patient Check-In & Registration: Greet patients warmly, confirm reasons for visits, collect and update accurate demographic data, and verify insurance coverage. Prepare patient charts, encounter forms, and obtain necessary authorizations for billing/treatment. Scheduling & Phone Management: Schedule patient visits with providers according to established protocols. Gather necessary demographic and medical complaint information to ensure proper routing. Answer and direct all incoming telephone calls efficiently. Insurance Familiarity: Demonstrate a strong understanding of insurance procedures and stay knowledgeable about which specific health plans our providers participate in. Collaborative Care: Partner with patients, physicians, and clinical care team members to support a seamless, team-based approach to overall patient care. Compliance & Quality: Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, and safety standards. Complete required annual educational assignments and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Administrative Support: Assist with filing medical records, attending required meetings/committees, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. We will accept any equivalent combination of formal education and/or prior work experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of customer-facing, customer service, or medical office experience is preferred. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a collaborative mindset. Licensure: None required.
