Process Control Technician - Saint Gobain Formula - Newark

Our Process Control Technician will support the Process Control Engineer and act as a key and important part of the Controls Team on site. This role will be heavily involved in PLC's and control equipment and will be responsible for the maintenance of the site control systems and related upgrade projects including SCADA / WinCC and PLC systems. They will actively be involved in helping the site reach its aim of industry 4.0, bringing to life the next level of automation.

We are open to candidates from different backgrounds, instead wanting to focus on the individual and their attitude and behaviours. However, it is essential that you have a qualification (Electrical Apprenticeship, BTEC, ONC, HNC) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. If you have previous experience working with a manufacturing/production maintenance team it would be beneficial.

Experience on designing, specifying, managing and improving process control and automation systems including - PLC and SCADA (preferably Siemens)
Experience of specifying process instrumentation, validation and commissioning would be advantageous.
Willingness to take on further studies to develop towards an engineer role
Good communication and influence skills
Self-motivated, good team builder and team player
Understanding of Process Principles and Parameters
