Procurement Manager - Manufacturing/FMCG
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Location: Thatcham, RG18 (Hybrid working - 3 days on site/2 days WFH)
Ideal Industries: Food Production, Beverage/Alcohol production, Dairy, Pharmaceutical & packaging.

New Chapter are partnered with a growing SME based in West Berkshire, growing year on year this company is really making noises in their market and produce well-known, high-quality products for both consumer sales directly and into supermarkets across the UK.

We are currently searching for a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for establishing and delivery of an expenditure control programme aimed at providing genuine cost improvements. This will include identifying and generating financial savings through focused contract negotiation around all goods and services

Responsibilities - Procurement:

* Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.

* Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.

* Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.

* Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.

* Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.

* Optimise Service Level Agreements across all suppliers to ensure delivery of service is aligned to the YBC business.

* Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.

* Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

* Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

* Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.

* Preparing procurement reports.

Role Requirements:

* Experience in the food & drink industry and/ or FMCG is desirable.

* Proven experience of working in supply chain operations.

* Experience using supply chain management software, in particular SAP.

* In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Strong management, influencing and negotiation skills.

* Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

* Highly organized and detail oriented.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
