Position Summary

We are looking for a Pro-Active Team Player to join a small but busy team responsible for the general maintenance of Rail Freight Wagons in the role of Supervisor
The role will involve team supervision of a small group of technicians undertaking procedures such as spring and brake block changes, general repairs to door latches and pre use maintenance checks. We are therefore looking for someone experienced in the supervision of staff, management of equipment, paperwork, rotas and man management against work requirements.
You will remain hands on and be capable of leading by example
The successful applicants will be provided with mentored training to ensure safety and compliance

Person Profile/Experience:

This would suit a skilled mechanic/technician Supervisor/Team Leader looking for an opportunity to break in to the Rail Engineering Industry, ex Forces Engineers, Plant Maintenance, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering/Fast Fit Maintenance skills will be suitable for this role

You will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required. You will ideally have a full driving license (ideally no more than 6 points) and be flexible enough to travel to other local sites in the region from time to time

Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs & Alcohol whilst at work. Regular random checks are carried out to ensure compliance

Qualifications:

A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in a mechanical fitting skill set desirable
Experience supersedes all
