The Role

Vision for Education is seeking supply SEND Teaching Assistant to work in local Special Education schools across Redcar, the position is to start as soon as possible. Working in multiple schools on a one-to-one basis and general classroom support in friendly and supportive specialist settings. The children you will support are aged 11 to 14 with special educational needs and disabilities such as SEMH, Autism and Physical Disabilities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous work experience in in mainstream or SEND schools. Alternatively, if you have worked in an environment supporting vulnerable people and want to transfer to a classroom setting, we want to hear from you. It is a great opportunity to get exposure into an education setting supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

The school

The specialist schools cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. The schools drive student engagement through their child centred approach to support which has proven results. Most schools you will work in have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant role you must:

Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
Be Comfortable with personal care in numerous settings.
Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.
Hold a DBS certificate would be an advantage but not essential this can be arranged.
