Salary of the Workshop Manager - £40,000 - £42,000 plus bonus
Location of the Workshop Manager - Dartford
Working hours of the Workshop Manager - 45 hours a week Monday to Friday
My client in Dartford is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their team.
You will be responsible for the daily operation of the workshop. To plan and load the workshop for staff availability to achieve maximum productivity
Essential Functions / Responsibilities of the Workshop Manager:
·Progress and maintain work through the workshop, prioritising repairs in line with customers' and/or business demands managed effectively through an open repair file
·Minimise vehicle downtime by identifying the most economical repair method both in time and cost.
·Ensure quality repairs are carried out in the workshop.
·Encourage good workshop practices to provide a safe and tidy, hazard-free working environment ensuring compliance with the Company's EHS Policy re: accurate data recording of equipment expiries eg ladder logs, axle stand test etc.
·Control overtime working in line with maintenance requirements
·Ensure all staff follow Company procedures and adhere to servicing and inspection schedules set out by the Company.
·Process paperwork in an accurate and timely manner within Company guidelines - to include liquidity and efficiency measures
·Provide prompt and accurate repair and damage quotations, reflecting competitive pricing for parts procurement.
·Whilst the above outlines the main duties of the post the list is not exhaustive and duties may need to change in the light of future developments or from time to time as directed by your manager.
Qualifications for the Workshop Manager:
·"Time Served" technician or possess City & Guilds Full Technicians Certificate or any equivalent qualification.
·Must have Workshop Manager / supervisor experience
·High level of enthusiasm and commitment to driving 100% customer satisfaction
·Excellent communication skills/ability to communicate at all levels with good use of questioning techniques
·Basic knowledge of computers,
·Customer centric mind-set & professionalism
·High level of organisation, ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
·Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
·Initiative to work autonomously
·Ability to push back and challenge
·Driving License - Full and valid
